Roël Calister is a percussionist, composer, and artistic director from Curaçao, known for his unique blend of Afro-Caribbean rhythms and contemporary sounds. After studying Jazz Drums and Latin Percussion at the Rotterdam Conservatory, he founded drumdrumdrum, a platform for interactive family performances. He also leads KUENTA, a festival band that has performed at events such as Glastonbury, SXSW, and Mysteryland.

In 2024, Roël launched the Roël Calister Ensemble, which in 2025 will present the theater program
